Dear Readers, Podcast Listeners, Alumni,
Educators,
Resellers, and Friends:
I've been cooped up in front of my computer for far too long. I need to get out, so we're announcing…
THE LENSWORK ROAD SHOW 2012
Okay, I confess, I want to spend some more time traveling and photographing for some personal projects, too. But as long as I'm spending so much time on the road, I'd love to make contact with photographers and LensWork fans and "shoot the photographic breeze."
Unlike the typical road show — when has LensWork ever done things the typical way? — we do not have a national schedule of big events in big cities. Instead, we're flexible and doing more of a plan-as-you-go, local approach. We love local and informal as much as possible, so that's the way we are structuring the Road Show — local events, coordinated with local photographers, with a variety of formats and objectives.
How about your photo group?

Here is a brief list of the types of gatherings we are now scheduling.
We've prepared a selection of 1-1½ hour talks on a variety of topics. These can be an evening, morning, or afternoon gathering to existing groups, organizations, or institutions. These are free events that I'm happy to do as my schedule allows. See the list of topics and specifics as well as more information . . .
Based on our workshops here in Anacortes, our Visual Workshops (on disc), and my articles in LensWork, these full-day seminars explore topics on a more detailed level. Although many of these are being offered directly by LensWork, we are happy to coordinate with co-sponsors — organizations, clubs, etc. More information . . .
Personalized Sessions of Advice/Guidance/Assistance
Whether you are looking for technical help to improve your photographs, editorial assistance to define/refine your project, or career advice on how to find or expand your audience, having a fresh pair of experienced eyes can open new possibilities.
These 1-hour, one-on-one individualized sessions bring focus specifically to your work and the possibilities for taking it to the next level. Each session is tailored specifically to each photographer's needs through the use of pre-session questionnaires and pre-session website/image reviews. By appointment only. More information . . .
These small groups sessions of hands-on, in-the-field shooting and/or group portfolio reviews offer an opportunity to spend a day with me and one of our LensWork Alumni discussing your photography and techniques. More information . . .
My first stop is in the Portland, Oregon area the week following Photolucida. I'm also already scheduled for a trip to Carmel, California in mid-May where I'm teaching a workshop at CPA. We are scheduling other events in northern California now.
We are also in the planning phases for trips in Texas, the mid-west, Montana/Wyoming, and the South. We'll be updating the calendar as we develop additional trips and events, so bookmark our Events and Location Schedule to keep informed when we'll be near you.
And, if your group, organization, school, business, or club would like to talk about an event in your area, we'd love to talk with you. As long as I'm on the road, maybe I can swing through your town!
This is going to be fun!
