Simply put, looking at the physical disc that contains the content of LensWork Extended is not all that inspiring. A disc just looks like a disc. That's why we've added Snippets to our website — so you can see what the content of LensWork Extended looks like and hear sample audio excerpts from our interviews with photographers. We post a new Snippet each Tuesday and Thursday. Check them out!
Currently, you can hear Jeff Curto (Italy), Joan Myers (Antarctica), and Nick Brandt (African animals) talk about some of their images.
This week Brooks Jensen interviewed noted photographer, scholar, and photographic printer Richard Benson for the next issue of LensWork.
Benson has long worked as a photographer/printer. For the past ten years, much of his time has been devoted to the production of fine photographic books. His latest book, is an exhaustive resource for ALL visual artists. Highly recommended!
Benson has taught at Yale since 1979 and was dean from 1996 to 2006. He is currently professor (adjunct) of photography.
It's worth saying one more time before the big event is over! Our Back Issue Sale will end on May 15th, but you still have a few days to fill in your LensWork collection, or find copies of your favorite issues to pass along to friends, students, and other photography lovers!
In addition to our lowest prices for pristine LensWork (print edition) back issues, "scratch and dent" copies (covers slightly scuffed or scratched) there's our new "Big Box of Back Issues."
